RGB Color Toy

For this week’s Physical Computing project I teamed up with Kate and Glenda. We created a toy for kids to learn about colors and color mixing.

The project consists of 1 RGB LED light and 3 buttons.
This is how it works:

  • When red button is pressed, LED turns red;

  • When green button is pressed, LED turns green;

  • When blue button is pressed, LED turns blue;

  • When red and green buttons are pressed together LED turns yellow;

  • When green and blue buttons are pressed together LED turns cyan;

  • When red and blue buttons are pressed together LED turns magenta;

  • When all 3 buttons are pressed the RBG LED shows all colors in a loop in this order: red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta and white. After this, the light turns off.

We wrote the code and uploaded in Arduino, and tested the circuit using a breadboard.

We mounted our circuit inside of a white box, and used a paper shade in the shape of a ghost on top of the LED light.
