A Cool Project: The Pool by Jen Lewin
This past May, I discovered this art installation at a gallery in Dumbo, Brooklyn. It was a pretty fun and interactive experience: as I started jumping in these circular pads, I entered this new world of lights and colors. The experience is different every time you step in, based on how you interactive with it.
The colors of the installation changed when more people were on it.
How it works
The installation consists if 40,000 LED lights and 106 individual pads. I think the pads have sensors that are triggered by people’s touch and temperature. The lights in the pads change colors, blink and fade based on the movements by people interacting with the installation.
