I’m an interaction designer and an MFA Interaction Design candidate at the School of Visual Arts.
My areas of focus and expertise are service design, user experience design, content strategy, design research, and community engagement. I am passionate about tackling complex systems and working on social impact projects.
For my thesis project, I'm working on a community building platform that will provide tools and guidelines to empower NYC small business owners of storefront shops and restaurants to connect and develop partnerships and solutions to their biggest challenges. Learn more about my project here.
This summer I was a service design apprentice at the Service Design Studio of the Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity. One of my summer projects was to improve the studio’s Civic Service Design Tools + Tactics, which is a toolkit that teaches public servants to apply design thinking methods to their work. I performed content audit and strategy, presented recommendations to the design team and facilitated a co-design workshop to help them plan and strategize the next steps to implementing these recommendations.
I acquired my first interaction design experience working as the Production and Visual Designer for the publications Architectural Record and Engineering News-Record’s apps. My work for these publications inspired me to take the User Experience immersive course at General Assembly in the summer of 2016 and enroll the Interaction Design program at SVA in 2017.
Previously, I was the Art Director of Americas Quarterly, a nonprofit policy magazine, with a focus on news and culture of Latin America and the United States. At Americas Quarterly, I commissioned illustrators and photographers’ work that was recognized by the American Illustration-American Photography and Society of Publications Designers. In addition, I collaborated with the Creative Director Donald Partyka in the redesign of the magazine in 2016.
I moved from Porto Alegre, a city in southern Brazil to New York City to earn my BA in Electronic Design and Multimedia from The City College of New York.
